Jay Bukzin, DDS
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
A cum laude graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Bukzin has been in practice as an oral, cosmetic facial, and implant surgeon since 2003.
Dr. Bukzin completed his oral & maxillofacial surgery residency at the Medical Center of Delaware and became board certified in 2005. He belongs to the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Virginia Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In addition to the Meyer Clinic, Dr. Bukzin is also credentialed at Fair Oaks Hospital. Previously, he served as a clinical instructor in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Thomas Jefferson Medical School.
The Alan Bukzin Bone Marrow Drive at Dr. Bukzin’s undergraduate alma mater, The College of William & Mary, is named after Dr. Bukzin’s brother, who died of leukemia in 1996. Dr. Bukzin is very active in the organization, which has registered more than 10,000 people into the national marrow donor registry and led to more than 80 life-saving matches.
He is also involved with Special Love, an organization that gives children and young adults with cancer a chance to enjoy childhood activities.

Michael A. Gentile, DMD, FACS
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
A native of upstate New York, Dr. Gentile received his undergraduate education from the University of Rochester. After being awarded a Navy Health Professions Scholarship, he attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2003. He went on to complete residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of North Carolina in 2007.
Following residency training, Dr. Gentile began his 12-year career as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the U.S. Navy. After completing a tour at Naval Hospital Lemoore in California, he was selected to join the teaching staff at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda where he served as the associate program director of residency training. He was then selected for sub-specialty training and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, FL in 2014. For the remainder of his military career, Dr. Gentile was stationed at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. There, he served as program director of the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training program and was co-director of the hospital’s multidisciplinary craniofacial team. Dr. Gentile’s distinguished military career culminated with several personal awards including Educator of the Year and Senior Officer of the Year in 2018.
Dr. Gentile was board certified in 2009 and currently serves on the examination committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and an active member of the Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. Dr. Gentile has also been inducted as a fellow in the prestigious American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Gentile has lectured and published extensively, both locally and nationally, on a variety of topics including cleft lip and palate, craniofacial disorders, orthognathic surgery, implant surgery, craniomaxillofacial trauma, and maxillofacial infections. He is trained in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with special interests in dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, bone grafting, and reconstructive surgery, facial cosmetic surgery and cleft and craniofacial surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Gentile can be found spending time with his wife and three children. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys golfing and distance running. He looks forward to welcoming you to The Meyer Clinic family.
