Sinus Precautions
What is Sinus Exposure?
Sinus exposure is a perforation between the sinus cavity and the oral cavity. Not following these instructions could lead to prolonged healing or a permanent sinus opening. By following these instructions you can optimize healing and prevent a permanent sinus opening.
- Do not blow your nose—use a nasal saline spray as needed.
- Sneeze with your mouth open, do not hold your sneeze in.
- Do not lift heavy objects or bend over.
- Use sinus decongestants as directed by your physician.
Continue following these instructions until directed otherwise.
Implant and Bone Grafting Protocol
Congratulations, you have chosen to proceed with dental implant surgery. Implants are clearly the best option for restoring form and function. Please follow the implant protocol below to ensure your implant’s successful integration.
- Start your prescribed antibiotics the night prior to your surgery, and continue taking them as directed until they are all taken.
- Start your prescribed mouth rinse ( Peridex ) the night prior to your surgery, and continue taking as directed for at least one week.
- Please discontinue all tobacco products prior to surgery and continue avoiding their use for as long as possible.
- Please follow all the post-operative instructions closely. They will be given to you after your surgery.
